About Me

Hello! I am a mom of two toddlers, a high school STEM teacher, and I have a love for clothing. However I have very little fashion sense and have trouble finding clothes that fit well.  I am a newbie to blogging as well, but am giving it try to hopefully help other women similar to myself.  I decided to begin this blog after purchasing my first Stitch Fix since I have begun to resent shopping.

Background
As all moms out there know, regardless of the number of kids you have, or if you work or stay home, once that baby arrives, your life is forever changed.  Long gone are the days that you can sleep in, get in that morning work out, hit the mall at a leisurely pace, and still have time to cook a homemade dinner for your friends. Most of the time, the hours I spend in a clothing store result in one piece of clothing (if I'm lucky) that actually fits and looks good.  The little time I get away from my career or my kids, is better put to use cleaning or fixing the house (I am a DIY type of person) or frankly just relaxing.  Shopping is no longer relaxing as I am usually in a rush, or frustrated that 5 hours in a dressing room has resulted in clothes that fit ok or nothing at all.

Lately, "updating" my wardrobe has consisted of 20 minute or less JC Penney runs after a hair cut or the late night mall trips during which I feel like it is taking every once of energy just to walk to my favorite store while racing against the clock.  I would often find myself making quick purchases that were not well thought out and then regretting the shopping trip in general.  I also realized I was (and still am) in desperate need of a style make-over that will last.  I also have guidelines for what I can wear to work.  Being a high school teacher requires that I try to look my best modestly while following the district dress policy (no jeans, flip flops, tanks, etc).  All this and no time to research styles and hit the shops led me to try Stitch Fix.

Let me also preface this by saying that my review is not endorsed and that this is an account of my experiences only.  I would LOVE and appreciate it if you are interested in Stitch Fix to use my referral code as I get a small discount on my next box.  I am also not a photographer but nonetheless, included some pictures.

What is Stitch Fix?
If you do not know what Stitch Fix is, I suggest you read through all their information at their site as I am a novice user.  I do know that it is a personal shopping experience for women in which an actual person (your stylist) reads/studies your style profile and any social media boards you share and choice 5 pieces of clothing/accessories for your fix.  There is a $20 styling fee that can be applied to the purchase of items in your box, however, if you do not purchase any of the five items, you forfeit your $20.  This type of online shopping in my opinion is best for women who do not have time to try on every article of clothing in stores and are willing to pay over $50 per item. If you are the thrift store type of person or are strapped for cash, this may not be right for you.  I consider myself to be somewhat frugal and manage my money very well, but I am guilty of buying $50 shorts and shirts if they fit and look great.  I will now take you through my experiences with this service and beyond.
